4-Year-Old Korean Boy Cries When Talking About Parents In A Video From My Golden Kids Explained

Publish date: 2024-07-14

While many people have caring and kind parents in their lives, a few kids, especially young ones, are not fortunate enough to share the same love, especially when their parents don’t treat them justly.

In a recently surfaced Korean video related to an episode in My Golden Kids, a similar incident took place where a four-year-old kid expressed distressing thoughts about his parents.

On November 21, 2023, a small video clip from the South Korean show My Golden Kids Episode 169 went viral on social media, where a four-year-old kid named Geum Ji-eun broke down when asked how his parents treated him. He replied that he didn’t know whether they liked him or not.

My Golden Kids Video Explained: What Did the Four-Year-Old Kid Say?

In a recently surfaced video from My Golden Kids Episode 169, a four-year-old kid named Geum Ji-eun was featured alongside his family, which consisted of his father, mother, and grandmother.

Ji-eun was interviewed in the episode, and when asked about who he likes to play with, he replied, “I don’t know. Because they’re always tired, they don’t play with me.”

The clip then proceeds to show Ji-eun playing alone with the toys in his room for hours, where his family doesn’t give him much attention despite him feeling alone.

When the interviewer asks a question regarding his father, “How is your dad?” he responds with, “When he gets angry, he’s scary. I wish that he would call me softer…Gieun-ah…like this.”

Later, the interviewer proceeds with the following question: “How about your mother?” Ji-eun replies, “I think she doesn’t like me.”

The kid couldn’t hold back his tears, so he covered up his eyes and asked the interviewer to wait a minute as he tried to control his emotions. Although this was the video that went viral, people have posted other moments from the episode.

In another instance, when Ji-eun draws on a paper, his mother asks him whether he wants to go to art school and then mentions that art school boys need to look good and that he doesn’t.

In a world full of standards, a mother is the only person who shows unconditional love to their child, and she’s the only one who truly praises his looks, but why would someone do this to a four-year-old child?

How Did Netizens React to the Video?

Here's a longer version of the show. Its called "My Golden Kids". You can see how the boy is actually 4 years old, was happy and gradually becomes sad when answering the questions. God how can some parents be clueless how grateful they should be for having their kids in life. pic.twitter.com/iJVm1HtObE

Just cried watching a clip of my golden child. This 4 year old kid saying he thinks his mum doesn't like him and he wishes his dad called his name softly rather than always shouting at him and the fact that he feels alone at home bc no one ever plays with him.. i want to hug him

How can you have a child and your child is telling himself "I think my mom doesn't like me"… How can you even allow him to think like this :/

I thought he was a small adult by the way he said wait a moment to hold back his tears people don’t realize this kid is burning eras and growing up maturing quickly 🥺 I just hope his parents realize how this is affecting and can have such bad consequences and love him a lot
