After what turned out to be a wild February, March was a little closer to average. Our average high and low for the month is 54.6 and 34.5 degrees, respectively. Crunching the highs and lows for March, we ended up with an average high of 54 degrees and an average low of 32.5 degrees. Our warmest day was on the 20th where we reached a daytime high of 68 degrees. The coldest, March 9, where we topped out at just 40 degrees.

Precipitation was near normal as well with 1.31 inches, the average is 1.39 inches. We primarily saw precipitation fall in the form of rain, however, a trace of snow was reported on the 8th, 9th, and 12th of March. The wettest day of the month occurred over a weekend, Sunday, March 24, where 0.52 inches of rain fell. This was still about a quarter of an inch shy of the record for the day, the record stands at 0.78 inches back in 1897.

Looking Ahead: We kick off April with our first batch of showers moving in Monday night into Tuesday. Light rain showers are expected across the region with high elevation snow. Active weather will likely stick around in the mountains through part of Wednesday while drying out in the valley. Models show another batch of moisture will likely move through over the weekend, stay tuned!
