Ludwig, Valkyrae and other influencers express their discontentment with Elon Musks new verificat
Twitter’s sole leader Elon Musk is a man of his words as he was successful in implementing the new verification policy in the platform despite facing tremendous backlash from prominent personalities across the world. Amongst these personalities, we found Valkyrae, Ludwig and other digital influencers who were baffled with the new system.
A lot of stuff is happening right now on Twitter as people got a double ‘official’ status, only to be removed minutes later. Some are even losing their previous verified status after subscribing to the $8 monthly payment. YouTuber Ludwig Ahgren was one of the first creators to speak up on this issue when he explained that he is getting DMs from unknown people who paid for verification.
He also revealed that after he bought the blue tick mark to edit a tweet, his real checkmark got replaced which is clearly puzzling him. The confusing situation took place with another YouTuber, Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofsetter as she tweeted that she has been getting a lot of comments with people who have anime profile picture as well as a verified status.
Prominent gamer FaZe Banks also joined the list of content creators to express how the new verification policy isn’t helping. He decided to reply to a certain post of Elon Musk which stated, “I love it when people complain about Twitter, on Twitter”. Banks explained that the OG checkmark gave a sense of authority rather than the new one.

Why are content creators unhappy with Elon Musk’s new verification policy?
Elon Musk has started charging $8 a month to the people who are willing to get verified on Twitter. This, according to him will reduce the usage of bots in the platform and also provide an enhanced security to the renowned personalities on Twitter. It was evident that the move wasn’t welcome by the Twitter community as we saw users complaining about paying to keep themselves ‘verified’.
Prominent author Stephen King was at the forefront to go against the decision, claiming that he won’t pay $20, the original amount of verification payment. It was, however, brought down to $8 after a negotiation coming from Elon Musk. Other content creators such as Dr DisRespect, Asmongold started suggesting alternate methods of confirming the verified people on Twitter, but that went in vain.
Now that the policy has been implemented, users who weren’t verified previously are taking advantage of the payment system to stand out when they DM or reply to their favorite content creators. This bewildering situation is certainly unwelcomed by creators such as Valkyrae and Ludwig.

Fans provide their opinions to content creators
Several users are recommending the creators to reset their settings to mutuals only so that it can improve their verified tab whereas others are agreeing with them to state that the verification status should go to the people who have earned it rather than paid for it.
While the situation of perplexity persists, it is unlikely that Elon Musk will undo his decision of implementing the verification policy as he was quite adamant in bringing the policy into effect.
