Mountain Bike Park, Golf Course and more coming to Tamarack Resort
TAMARACK, Idaho (CBS2 News) — Tamarack Resort is getting ready to launch some big projects this year. Regardless of your interests, they hope to have something for everyone.
"We do have quite a few people that come up and just stay in and have that cabin experience," said Tamarack Resort Vice President Wolfe Ashcraft. "We have a spa, we've got restaurants, we have The Reserve. It was the number one ski restaurant ranked by USA Today this season."
The Village at Tamarack Resort has an assortment of eateries from pubs, to coffee shops, to fine dining. There is also a wide variety of options when it comes to recreation.
"There's hiking, there's biking, there's a lot of things that you can do during the summer if you're not a skier or a biker."
One of the new additions to Tamarack Resort is their mountain bike park.
"We have one of the most amazing bike parks in the region, if not the country, for downhill bike riding," said Ashcraft. "We have 20 plus miles of cross country available free of charge as well. We've been on a bit of a building spree for the last couple of summers and have added a significant number of trails. We're really excited to showcase what our in-house builders have been able to build with more challenging trails, additionally, more family-friendly trails."
Another summer addition is Tamarack's 18-holeOsprey Meadows Golf Course.
"The golf course was ranked as one of the top 100 golf courses in the country for a number of years and we're excited to bring that back to life. It is truly a gem," said Ashcraft. "We've added several new holes, reconfigured some things, made it more player-friendly, but still super challenging for that high-level golfer. It's a really exciting key piece of really what makes us a true ski, golf, lake resort and really finishes out the entire vision of the resort."
The last piece to completing the entire vision of the resort is the mid-mountain lodge.
"That will have food and beverage services, amazing views and will be a key focus point on the mountain for the experience," said Ashcraft. "It allows people to stay up on the mountain and not have to come down to the base area for food and beverage and things like that, as well as opening up opportunities for weddings and groups and things to get up there and enjoy that as well."
For those of you who enjoy spring skiing, this is your last weekend to ski the seven lifts and 57 runs at Tamarack. To cap off the season, they're hosting their Idaho State Pond Skim Championship.
"This is probably our ninth or tenth year doing this, we build a big pond here in the bay area with wild costumes and a big party and we've got a vendor village and DJs and it's a great way to celebrate the spring and the end of the season," said Ashcraft.
The competition starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Participants must be at least 13-years-old to enter, but anyone is welcome to watch. The last day to ski at Tamarack is April 7.
