OBITUARIES: Canadian Guitarist Domenic Troiano Dies At 59

TORONTO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Canadian guitarist, producer, songwriter and performer Domenic Troiano passed away on Wednesday, after a long struggle with cancer.

Troiano will be remembered as a legendary force in the Canadian music world. He played in groups such as The Mandala and Bush, before replacing Joe Walsh in The James Gang, then joining The Guess Who.

He fronted the Domenic Troiano Band and Black Market in the late '70s and early '80s.

In 1984, he began writing themes and music for television, including the series Night Heat, Diamonds and Hot Shots among others.

Troiano also helped in the studio with many artists, and his guitar work can be herad on recording projects by artist as varied as Diana Ross, Joe Cocker, Donald Fagen, David Clayton-Thomas, Etta James, Ronnie Hawkins, James Cotton and Long John Baldry.
