The longtime partner of Sandra Bullock has died at 57 after a private three-year battle with ALS.

A statement to The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Bryan Randall "passed away peacefully" on Saturday.

“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request. We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” the statement said. “At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

Though Bullock keeps her life hidden from the public eye she opened up briefly about her relationship during a 2021 appearance on Facebook Watch's Red Table Talk.

Bullock spoke of Randall and her three children while saying "It's the best thing ever."

“I don’t wanna say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother. I don’t need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man," she said.

Her sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado shared a message on her Instagram page and noted how Sandra helped take care of Randall during his illness.

"ALS is a cruel disease," she said. "But there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home. Rest in peace, Bryan."

The couple met in 2015 when Randall was hired to photograph her son's birthday party, according to People.

He worked as a fashion model for luxury brands including Hugo Boss and Saint Laurent before changing careers.

ALS orAmyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive neurological illness that always has a fatal outcome. Randall's family suggests donations be made to the ALS Association and Massachusetts General Hospital.
