Steelheads' Jake Kupsky named Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

Jake Kupsky with the Idaho Steelheads has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Dec 6.

This is the first weekly ECHL award for the Steelheads this season, and it's Kupsky's first in his career.

Kupsky played in matches on Friday and Saturday against the South Carolina Stingrays with a 2-0-0 record and a .961 save percentage. He made 26 saves on 27 shots on Friday, followed by 23 saves for 24 on Saturday, leading his team to victory in both matches.

Kupsky, 26, holds a 6-2-0 record over the season with 1.60 GAA. He's currently leading the ECHL in GAA and is one of the five goalkeepers with at least two shutouts two his name.

Kupsky used to play for Union Collegewhere he was named to the 2018-19 Mike Richter Award Watch List as well as 2017-18 ECAC Third-Team All-Star selection.

This weekly honor marks four straight seasons of the Steelheads goaltenders earning weekly honors. They'll be opening a three-game weekend against Rapid City Rush on Dec. 15 at the Idaho Central Arena. For more information, see HERE.
