Valentin Elizalde was a Mexican singer known for his off-key style of music. The singer was also known as El Gallo de Oro which translates to The Golden Rooster. His biggest hits included: Vete Con El, Ebiro de Amor, Vete Con El, Vuelve Carinito, and Soy Asi.
The Mexican singer decided to follow in the footsteps of his deceased father who was also an icon of Mexican regional music. He had the exact tone of voice as his father.
He was murdered in an ambush at the age of 27.

Life and death of the singer
Valentin Elizalde was said to be one of the most popular Banda singers at the beginning of 2000. Most of their songs and artistic career were a bit controversial.
On November 25, 2006, the singer was gunned down shortly after leaving a concert in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. He was killed along with his driver and his assistant. There are speculations that Elizalde was killed because of his concert performance of the corridor A Mis Enemigos which had lyrics believed to antagonize drug trafficking gang Los Zetas. This theory according to El Universal is the strongest since it indicates that one of the songs by the deceased singer caused his death.
Other sources reported that the Mexican singer was killed because he was involved with the wife of a capo and her husband ordered his murder when he was leaving the palenque in Tamaulipas.
Elizade was allegedly murdered by one Raul Hernandez Barron, a member of Los Zetas. Barron was arrested on 22 March 2008 in Coatzintla, Veracruz.

1. Valentin Elizalde was born in a village near the city of Etchojoa
The Mexican singer was born on February 1 1979 in Jitonhuecca near the city of Etchojoa, Sonora. He and his siblings later moved to Guadalajara with his father. He had two brothers Jesus Elizalde, Francisco Elizalde and one a sister Livia Elizalde.
While growing up, Elizalde sold music cassettes in the palenques. He studied Law at the University of Sonora and graduated as a lawyer.

3. There are speculations that Valentin Elizalde received death threats before he was murdered
According to reports, Elizalde was handed a letter in the middle of his performance by security personnel. Observers stated that when he received the letter, his countenance changed totally but he still continued the show. The letter was believed to be a death threat.
After he received the alleged threat, the singer left the palenque and boarded a truck that was accompanied by his representative Mario Mendoza who was also killed in the shooting. His Cousin Fausto ‘Tano’ Elizalde was the only survivor of the attack.
4. Rumors about Elizalde’s widow and his cousin Tano
It has been almost 15 years since the passing of Valentin Elizalde. His widow recently made the headlines when it became known that she would be marrying his cousin Tano.
Tano was one of those that were suspected to be involved in the killing of the Mexican singer. Elizalde’s daughter Valentina shared that Tano planned everything for her father so he should have been hit in the attack as well. Also, one of Elizalde’s women claimed Tano was not himself on the day f the attack.
She added that her late husband might have been involved in the crimes of his cousin. Meanwhile, Tano has denied these accusations.
Despite all these allegations, Tano has maintained his relationship with his cousin’s widow and he has confirmed his intentions of marrying her.
