Kylian Mbappe has been reportedly linked to Belgian supermodel, Stephanie Rose Bertram. Bertram was rumoured to be in a secret relationship with the PSG forward after she was spotted at the Lusial Iconic Stadium to cheer Mbappe during the 2022 World Cup final between France and Argentina.

However, Mbappe was reportedly still in a relationship with Transgender model, Ines Rau. Rumours of a relationship were fuelled when the pair were spotted on a yacht in Cannes in May 2022. One photo captured them chatting very cheerfully together, while another photo captured the French footballer carrying the transgender model in his arms.

Ines Rau was born to Algerian parents in Paris as a male but began transitioning to a female at the age of 16. However, the 32-year-old did not divulge her gender identity until she was 24 years old when she released an autobiography, Woman.

The revelation brought several unpleasant comments but Rau persevered and gradually worked her way up in the modelling world. She became Playboy magazine’s first openly transgender cover model and Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for November 2017.

In an interview for Playboy recorded by Entertainment Tonight, Rau said: “I lived a long time without saying I was transgender. I dated a lot and almost forgot. I was scared of never finding a boyfriend and being seen as weird. Then I was like: ‘You know, you should just be who you are. It’s a salvation to speak the truth about yourself, whether it’s your gender, sexuality, whatever. The people who reject you aren’t worth it. It’s not about being loved by others; it’s about loving yourself.’”

She added: “When I was doing this shoot, I was thinking of all those hard days in my childhood. And now everything happening gives me so much joy and happiness. I thought, ‘Am I really going to be a Playmate — me?’ It’s the most beautiful compliment I’ve ever received. It’s like getting a giant bouquet of roses.”

Rau has since worked with several endorsement deals for brands such as Alexis Bittar, Barneys, Balmain Hair and Maison Margiela. Wikipedia, Forbes and Business Insider have estimated her net worth at $1.5 million, making her one of the richest models in the world.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Mbappe’s rumoured new girlfriend, Bertram, has since debunked reports linking her with the French footballer. Taking to Instagram, Bertram, who shares two children with former Ajax and PSG right-back Gregory van der Wiel, wrote a lengthy post.

She wrote: “Normally I do not reply to gossip or rumors, but there is also a line that should not be crossed.

“The last few weeks lies have been spread about me that are causing serious harm to my family, myself and those around me.

“2023 has started for me with hate and cyber-bullying, unfortunately, it’s the sad picture of what our world is becoming.

“Nothing that has been said, written or claimed is true in any shape or form.

“The truth can’t and won’t come from a stranger that doesn’t know anything about my life and is hiding behind a screen.

“In a world where getting views, clicks and likes is all that matters, we sometimes forget that we are all still people and that cyberbullying can, unfortunately, destroy lives.

Both Bertram and Gregory van der Wiel have since split. Meanwhile, Mbappe has neither confirmed nor denied his relationship with Rau and Bertram.

Why did Mbappe’s girlfriend split?

On January 10, sports news media, Marca, reported that Mbappe had split with his purported transgender girlfriend, Rau. According to the news report, the pair split so that Mbappe could start a new relationship with Bertram. However, Bertram has since denied the reports as stated earlier. But they still follow each other on Instagram, while the French footballer and Rau have unfollowed each other.

As usual, Mbappe has remained silent about his love life, preferring to focus his energy on helping PSG win their first Champions League title after France’s heartbreaking loss to Argentina in the Qatar 2022 World Cup final.
